I HERE CCS WILL BE RUNNING E MODS THIS SEASON[2009] IS THAT A GOOD THING OR A BAD THING? ?? HOPE THEY CAN KEEP THE CAR COUNT UP AND THE RULES GOOD

THEY SHOULD HAVE ONE MODIFIED CLASS BUT WITH DIFFERENT WEIGHT S DEPENDING ON WHICH CLASS THE CAR FALLS UNDER.

I see an oppertunity for them with TSS changing the rules, if CCS is smart they will go by TSS rules from last year so nobody has to change anything on their cars!

CCS 2009 RULES AS PER THEIR WEBSITE:
Crawford County Speedway 2009 T.E.M.S. Economy Modified 1. Engine: 360 Maximum cubic inch with GM block and stock stroke 3.48 crank. Flat top pistons. Ford 361 (351 block and stroke). Ford and Mopar must use OEM parts only. No SVO or W2 performance parts allowed. Cast iron OEM blocks only
a. OEM cast iron heads or SR & GM vortex heads allowed. The world products part/casting #4266GN8B is the only legal after market head allowed.
b. All other after market head is illegal. NO aluminum blocks. No Dry sump motors.
2. Lift Rule: .480” @ valve with .030 lash. Roller rockers allowed. OK to run shaft rockers.
3. No roller camshafts or lifters. No bleed-down lifters.
4. Alcohol or racing fuel ok. No additives. Maximum carburator 750 CFM.
5. OEM cast iron heads. Vortec heads ok. No pro action vortec heads. 2.02” intake and 1.60” exhaust valves maximum. Angle milling ok. No aftermarket heads allowed. Double hump heads ok.
6. 23 degree heads only. No angle plugs allowed. No porting or polishing of heads or intake. No match porting of intake to heads. No aluminum heads. Cast iron heads only.
7. No mismatching of engine parts. GM to GM and Ford to Ford, etc.
8. No Aluminum parts except intake manifold, pulleys, valve covers, radiators and water pump.
9. No belt drives fuel pumps. Mechanical in stock location as factory installed
10. 8” rear fuel cell panel mandatory. No hinges. No drilling holes except for pins.
11. Weight 2500 with car and driver following the race on CCS Scales
12. Tires: 8” steel wheel – I.M.C.A. Modified Tires OK. KK-704 or KK 704 Short American Racer.
I.M.C.A. Hoosier Tires OK. Southwest Speed 8” Tires – G60 Dirt American Racer Tire – Hoosier F53-F75-970-880 Asphalt 8” Stamped Tires only. Grooving ok.
13. Steel Wheel only. 10” maximum. Bead lock on right rear only.
14. Transmission: No aluminum parts allowed on pressure plate or disc. 10” clutch minimum. Reverse must work. OEM stock transmission only. Automatic must have a flywheel made of steel and 10” converter that is not reworked or modified in any way. If it is modified it is not OEM. NO BERT or Brinn allowed. No direct drive. Car must have working starter and must be able to start on its battery power. Must have blow proof bell housing on standard transmissions.
15. No aluminum flywheel. No aluminum 10-1/2” clutch parts allowed. Mini clutches ok.
16. MSD ignition allowed.
17. No mag type distributors. Distributor must drive oil pump. OEM style.
18. Drivers floor must be made of 16-guage steel – NO aluminum in the floors allowed.
19. 6” maximum spoiler optional.
20. Please refer to General Rules for additional information. Safety information and Fuel Cell information.
21. Claim: NO CLAIM – NO MOTOR CLAIM – NO CAR CLAIM
22. Final notes: Drivers, if it does NOT say it, that doesn’t mean you can do it. Call CCS TECH before you do anything to your cars that might be questionable.
