I don't think they've had a bad Hunt feature yet. Last Saturday night was another excellent race in Ogilvie, MN with Jason Krohn getting his 2nd win of The Hunt. Check out USMTS's "Aftershock" from the RacinDirt.com crew for more on it:
The second 3 drivers in Hunt points are all still within 39 points of Johnny Scott's lead. Rodney Sanders is 2nd at -18 with Jason Hughes & Stormy Scott, 3rd & 4th.
After a couple of Kansas City-area races on Thursday & Friday, The Hunt comes to Salina Highbanks Speedway THIS SATURDAY, 8/24! $3000 to win which goes to $5000 to win with an extra $100 Big Dog Buy-in! Then on Oct 10-12, USMTS will have a big non-points special at SHBS that will pay $10,000 to win!!! This Saturday would make a nice tune-up for that....

Another great USMTS Hunt race last night at Valley Speedway with Kelly Shryock getting a last lap pass win by inches over Johnny Scott! First USMTS win in 15 months for Kelly -- a NINE-time USMTS champion!!! www.usmts.com/news/news_article.asp?NewsID=15575I bet all the folks who watched it on RacinDirt.com's www.RacinDirt.TV last night got their $20 worth and then some! ;-) If you're a Modified racer and are at Lakeside tonight or SHBS tomorrow, might as well bring an extra $250 along....the pre-entry deadline for the 15th annual USMTS Featherlite Fall Jamboree set for Sep 19-21 at Deer Creek Speedway has been extended through SUNDAY, AUG 25th!!!

No one left Lakeside disappointed last night except maybe Rodney Sanders who had a 10-car length lead wiped out by a caution with 11 laps to go. Still he finished 3rd though and closed to within 12 points of the point lead! Terry Phillips won his first Hunt feature in 4 tries and became the 7th different winner in a row and 8th dif. winner in the 11 Hunt races so far. Ryan Gustin 13th to 2nd last night seems the most likley to make that 8 and 9. He's now 'no wins in 11 Hunt races' but Zack VanderBeek (top 5 last night) and Steve Whiteaker, Jr. (19th to 6th!) are also running real well right now and Dereck Ramirez went 25th to 10th last night too so...who knows? Maybe Johnny Bone, Jr.? Terry Beckham? Salina's going to be great tonight! Just watched a video from April there. Stormy & Hughes putting on a show through lapped traffic. I could hear announcer Zack Clark in the background doing his patented "Folks, if you don't like what you just saw, then you don't like dirt track racing!" Stormy got the win, Jason 2nd and Johnny Scott, Jeremy Payne, Ryan Gustin all right there in contention for much of it. They're's going to be skydivers and fly-bys and those Sput's-es, Mullins, ProPowers, Geddes, Roush/Yates, etc. are all going to be singing pretty TONIGHT!
